April 1st 2007 Game
On arriving at fineshades top lodge there was a small sign for close action pointing up a no entry signed road wich lead us up a forrestry track, that then split in two but there were no directions so a 50/50 chance then, we turned right and found the safe! zone.
There was a small mobile shop stocking the usual airsoft stuff which was also used to sign in.
i was very suprised not to be asked to chrono our guns considering it was our first visit to this site? we had to ask ourselves if we could chrono them as mine and docs guns have had some work done on them and we did not know there exact fps.

we did not see anybody else testing there guns either and from what we could gather there were a few new comers to the site

the first game was the usual capture the flag game fair anough although it did seem to drag on a bit
the next game was to defend a long thin strip of trees wich had very little cover so no one lasted very long as it was a 1 life game,we then reversed roles and attacked the strip of trees with the same outcome as before.

after lunch we then had the main long game wich consisted of the 2 teams trying to find and take back to base metal cylinders located around the site and also our team trying to capture a pilot from the other team and return him to base.
this game lasted about 2 & a half hrs
after this there was a couple of capture the bunker games to finish the day off.

Conclusion
the site itself was quite good typical hilly forrested ground with a few bunker complexes
the problem i have was with the organisers, there seemed to be very little chronoing of guns,
the so called "safe" zone had people firing weapons everywere during lunch. in fact i was hit by a rebound while eating my lunch!

during the main game the other side had at least 5 snipers including marshals defending the pilot who seemed to be invincable, wether they took there shots or not i dont know but at one point i dropped a grenade in the middle of there position and then ran in firing at most of them only to be shot in the chin by i am sure a sniper rifle at about 20 foot away(it bloody hurt)only 3 walked out after i moaned at the marshal
and 5-6 were all the same distance from it!
we only had 1 or 2 snipers on our side at most

there seemed to be a lot of people walking away with some nasty face injuries including our team at the end of the day which i have never seen at FFz or Urban Assault.one lad i saw was bleeding just above his eye from a shot in the first game could have been very nasty!

there seemed to be far too many snipers during the day and quit a few were not bothered about shooting you from close range!
Also no barrel socks were handed out so it was sometimes difficult to tell if people were dead or not
i might of just gone there on a bad day but when i asked at our last urban game we were told by one of urbans organisers pretty much the same as what happened on our day at close action

i am not sure if i would go back there again ,maybe when the bruises have healed with a full face mask body armour and a hi powered rifle!
